Releasing Your Potential Workshops Workforce Development LSC London Central “CragRats came up trumps. They designed, marketed and delivered an innovative programme in very short order. Delegates’ engagement was electric. This is a new tool for driving forward the Skills Strategy with hard to reach businesses.” Tony Nelson, Director of Skills and Workforce Development, LSC London Central "The events have been a huge success. The thorough delegate recruitment campaign combined with the innovative nature of the events ensured a high turn-out rate of delegates booked. The seminars resulted in good quality leads for Business Link for London - over 50% of delegates wanted an appointment with a Skills Broker after the sessions.” Anita Bhandal, Marketing Department, Business Link for London /challenge LSC for London Central and Business Link for London approached CragRats with the aim of engaging SME leaders with the AddMore initiative and the Skills and Leadership Agenda. AddMore is a service designed to increase profits and customer satisfaction by improving the performance of business leaders and the skills of managers and employees. Together they required a provider to administer, recruit, market and deliver a week of events that would enable over 300 delegates to participate. /approach CragRats designed and implemented an email-based marketing campaign to over 30,000 SMEs across London, complete with follow-up phone campaign and bookings service. This approach was highly successful in engaging with individuals who previously had little or no contact with Business Link or the LSC, and generated significant data for future use. This was backed up by a specially designed website and direct marketing flyer. CragRats designed a half-day workshop to be run nine times over the course a week in various London locations. This provided delegates with a range of options for attending, including morning, afternoon and evening sessions. Our training team developed a compelling programme that incorporated a range of innovative techniques to engage delegates. Participants shared concerns and had their perceptions challenged with regard to the importance of skills development. Forum theatre actively engaged participants with developing new behaviours and attitudes in the workplace and motivated participants to implement new ways of working. /results Extensive evaluation demonstrated that all delegates had a positive learning and motivational experience which for many was their first face-to-face contact with Business Link and the LSC. The positive results meant that the week’s events were repeated for a second week just four months later. Most importantly in both weeks the project surpassed its target of 50% sign-up to a diagnostic visit to their workplace. - Achieved and surpassed recruitment and attendance targets
- Over 98% of delegates would recommend the events
- Positive feedback from the delegates describing the events as ‘excellent’, ‘fantastic’ and ‘very innovative’
- Made the links between business results and skills investment
- Enabled delegates to review their impact as leaders and offered new answers in leadership and skills development
- Post-event evaluation indicated a 94% high to very high satisfaction rate for the overall event
