CragRats win National Training Award
The ceremony held at Leeds Town Hall on Tuesday 25 September 2007 revealed that CragRats had won a National award, for the first time in its 16 year history, despite winning highly commended and a regional award in previous years. There were 187 finalists throughout the UK across 9 regions. 17 organisations from Yorkshire and the Humber reached the regional finals of this year’s National Training Awards. Finalists included; Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Hammondsdirect, HBoS Plc, Leeds City Council, William Hill Organisation and Wm Morrison Supermarket plc. CragRats scooped the overall National Training Award and will celebrate at a gala ceremony in London in December. CragRats delivered 30 training events for Rok's 1,221 staff at sites across the North West. Using consultation, discussion based workshops, high level facilitation and theatrical performances to engage with disparate staff across the business. We created hard-hitting and powerful performances which ended in a serious accident resulting in the death of one of the key characters. Following the training the accident frequency rate (AFR) fell by an incredible 87 percent. It put Rok’s North West operations, based in Salford Quays, ahead of an accident reduction ratio set by the board.
