WIGAN YOUNGSTERS LEARN THE THREE ‘R’s
CragRats have recently completed a tour of schools in Wigan with an innovative approach to getting youngsters to think about the three R's - reduce, reuse, recycle. Wigan Council commissioned CragRats to deliver the tour which has reached around 2400 young people across 12 schools. A team of CragRats acotrs performed a specially written play that tackled the issues surrounding recycling. Students then took part in an interactive workshop and looked at how they could make a difference as individuals and as a group. The aim of the tour is to get young people to be environmentally aware, to understand what might happen if we fail to recycle – both locally and globally. CragRats’ Account Manager Patricia Moorhouse said: “Recycling and environmental issues are extremely topical and this tour helps capitalise on that by giving young people a chance to formulate their own opinions and hopefully take positive action.” For more information on CragRats waste awareness programmes please call Patricia Moorehouse on 08444 18 0500.
