National Enterprise Network
An interactive education programme Experience Enterprise is available to you, in your area, this year. This interactive programme has been developed with CragRats in association with the National Enterprise Network. The programme includes: - A live performance to raise awareness of Enterprise and the opportunities it can bring young people
- Interactive workshops to identify and develop enterprising qualities in young people
- Topics covered including: Enterprising Capability, Business & Economic Understanding and Financial Literacy
- Comprehensive teaching materials to support ongoing enterprise activity
- Student certificates for Records of Achievement or Progress files
- Access to professional development for staff
Overall results for Enterprise Autumn Term 2005: Figures based on 5770 pupils from 32 schools. - 99% of pupils enjoyed the presentation
- 92% are now more aware of how Enterprise affects every part of their lives
- 93% learned more about enterprising skills, attitudes and knowledge
- 99% realised it is helpful to use these skills and attitudes in their mainly own lives
- 98% felt the workshop gave them opportunity to practise and develop their skills
- 97% said the presentation affected how they thought about enterprise and enterprising skills
“Enterprising skills are not only useful in starting a business – it will help us in everyday life.” “I have learned all the skills I need to start a business. I will use these when I finish school.” “I have learned how hard it is to start a business and you need a lot of qualities in order to do this. I also learnt that it is important to get involved and say what you think.” “I have learned that you can be independent and succeed and I can be a leader.” “To make your own business you must plan before and ahead.” “I have learned to be more determined in life; that when I start something new, be determined to stick with it.” “I learned that things don’t just happen, you have to make them happen.” “Today I learned to be more confident in life and believe in myself and what you have to take on board to run a successful business. It was great!” The main influences were as follows: 70% learned more about what a business Enterprise would be like, 52% realised the importance of getting involved and 52% found the workshop helped to build confidence. - 98% of adults found the presentation useful

- 100% felt the event integrated with their curriculum – 69% totally or mostly
