ASDA
People Development and Events at ASDA-WALMART “I believe passionately that the inspirational training we received from CragRats made us the best performing ASDA-WALMART superstore in the UK. It has created a real ‘wow factor’ throughout the entire building. We now have the lowest absenteeism in the country and 97% of people here say it’s the best place to work. CragRats has instilled this outstanding philosophy from Senior Management right through to all our colleagues. We have seen a 50% increase in turnover since our training.” Owen Hickey, General Store Manager, ASDA-WALMART /challenge ASDA was formed by a group of farmers from Yorkshire and became part of the WALMART family in June 1999. There are now 259 stores and 19 depots across the UK. ASDA employs 122,000 colleagues with a reputation for being the best and the friendliest in the industry. In the recent Sunday Times '100 Best Companies To Work For', ASDA came first, and they have appeared in the top 10 three years in a row. They were also awarded the Nestlé Social Commitment Award in 2002 by their peers in the food industry. ASDA has been working with CragRats for over ten years on a wide variety of projects. The common aim of the partnership is to feed and develop the ASDA culture and embed the values of the culture within their workforce. CragRats’ challenge is to continue to motivate and inspire colleagues at ASDA to want more for themselves and their organisation.
